He was granted a release by the Rams in March of 2009. He was brought in with the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 3-year deal, but was let go from that deal in February of this year. He was then signed to a 1-year, $1.7 million deal with the Patriots.
The running game is sketchy but somehow the New England Patriots get the job done with Laurence Maroney, Fred Taylor, Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris.
The New England defense is not what it used to be. Jerod Mayo is a pretty good linebacker and Vince Wilfork is still a force in the middle. The New England Patriots are praying that 2nd round pick Brandon Spikes can make a difference right away. The secondary is average and doesn’t make enough big plays. Despite the fact that Belichick doesn’t use him almost enough as he thinks he can always make a first down, the New England Patriots do have an awesome kicker in Stephen Gostkowski.
