Gambling on Patriots in 2010 NFL Preseason

In 2010 NFL lines betting at the online sportsbook, the Patriots are 12-1 to win the Super Bowl.

The New England Patriots play in a pretty difficult division with the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins nonetheless they are still the favorite in NFL preseason lines to win the AFC East. 2010 NFL preseason wagering odds list New England at even money to gain the AFC East with the Jets the 2nd selection at 6-5. Buffalo is a hopeless longshot while the Miami Dolphins are contenders also at 4-1. The New England Patriots play an appealing preseason opening competition as they host the reigning Super Bowl champ New Orleans Saints on August 12th. They travel to Atlanta a week later for a competition that can be seen on Fox television against the Falcons. They will host the St Louis Rams in Week 3 whereas they travel to the New York Giants in Week 4.

In a big disappointment, the New England Patriots are arriving from a 10-6 season. New England had to play Baltimore in the Wild Card round due to the fact they didn’t win the division. They were beaten by the Ravens and many flaws were exposed. Quarterback Tom Brady in fact made blunders and the New England offense was not overwhelming. Defensive coordinator Dean Pees was let go because the defense was bad for most of the season.

The New England Patriots will get esteem in NFL preseason lines because they still have Brady and head coach Bill Belichick. New England has also wide receivers Randy Moss and Wes Welker who are a great pair. Welker is arriving from an injury but he is healing faster than supposed. The squad also added veteran Torry Holt.

Holt was a 6th total draft pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the St Louis Rams. He was a part of the winning squad at Super Bowl XXXIV, and since then has consistently reached at least 1,300 yards every season through 2005. Actually, he is the sole receiver in NFL history to do so in six straight years. Due to injuries and other teammates that hindered the offense, his streak was broken in 2006. He was granted a release by the Rams in March of 2009. He was brought in with the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 3-year deal, but was let go from that deal in February of this year. He was then signed to a 1-year, $1.7 million deal with the Patriots.

The running game is sketchy but somehow the New England Patriots get the job done with Laurence Maroney, Fred Taylor, Kevin Faulk and Sammy Morris.

The New England defense is not what it used to be. Jerod Mayo is a pretty good linebacker and Vince Wilfork is still a force in the middle. The New England Patriots are praying that 2nd round pick Brandon Spikes can make a difference right away. The secondary is average and doesn’t make enough big plays. Despite the fact that Belichick doesn’t use him almost enough as he thinks he can always make a first down, the New England Patriots do have an awesome kicker in Stephen Gostkowski.
