Updated NBA Futures at the Sports Books Favor Heat and Lakers

The Lakers are +250 at the Internet sports books while the Heat is +150. Sportsbook odds list every other squad with double-digit odds to win the 2010-2011 NBA championship. The Heat made a major splash in free agency since they were in a position to retain Dwyane Wade to go along with LeBron James and Chris Bosh. Miami went from double-digit odds before their new competitor additions to the fave to win next year’s championship. They’ll still have to get past Los Angeles however and that will not be simple.

Denver’s center around Carmelo Anthony remains in one piece and they are also 18-1. Oklahoma City has plenty of young skill as well as leading scorer Kevin Durant and they are 18-1. Atlanta obtained Joe Johnson and they are next at 25-1. San Antonio’s veteran squad is 28-1. Utah lost Carlos Boozer but picked up Al Jefferson and they are 30-1. Houston gets Yao Ming back from injury and they are 35-1. The Knicks are also at 35-1, and they have Amar’e Stoudmire. The Phoenix Suns are 35-1 after losing Stoudemire and so are the Portland Trail Blazers whilst Milwaukee and New Orleans have odds of 40-1.

With regards to winning the NBA championship this year, there are plenty of real longshot teams. Memphis, Charlotte and Washington are 50-1. With LeBron James now gone, Cleveland went from one of the favorites to a 60-1 longshot. Golden State is 75-1 while Detroit, Indiana, Philadelphia and the Los Angeles Clippers are 100-1.
