With the addition of Al Jefferson, the Jazz has improved their likelihood of having success next season against NBA betting sportsbook odds.
The addition of Jefferson will be major in basketball gambling since the Jazz lost Carlos Boozer in free agency. Utah should again be a contender against NBA lines at the offshore sportsbook next season.
More usually than not last season, sportsbook odds liked the Jazz. Boozer was a major part of Utah’s offense as he averaged 19.5 points per competition. Utah has now replaced his scoring with Jefferson who put in in 23.1 points per game. In exchange for Jefferson, the Jazz are expected to give up two future first-round picks. The Jazz have the money to pay Jefferson because they sent Boozer to Chicago in a sign and trade deal.
Jefferson came to Minnesota in 2007 from Boston in the big Kevin Garnett deal. He has competed well for Minnesota and was their top scorer last season. Jefferson signed a major contract with Minnesota a while back and has been their main offensive risk. Minnesota needed to build for the future and shed his salary, though. They were able to get Michael Beasley from Miami for almost nothing so they were able to trade Jefferson.
Utah is expecting that Jefferson will have the ability to do just what Boozer did for them. Jefferson is three years younger, which is the one advantage for Utah. Jefferson has been known to have off the court difficulties, nonetheless, which is a drawback.
Utah won 53 matches in the course of the normal season and they were 49-30-3 last season vs the point spread at the offshore sportsbook. Utah was 26-13-2 at home and they even had a winning record against the spread on the road as they went 23-17-1. Boozer was the top scorer and rebounder and he also led the team in field goal ratio so Jefferson is stepping into some big shoes. He could also not get as much playing time as Boozer got since Paul Millsap is coming on fast. Deron Williams who has fed Boozer the ball for years, will take some time to develop chemistry with Jefferson. The Jazz were fourth in the NBA in points per competition last season so Jefferson will need to contribute immediately. They are also one of only three squads to have never lost 60 matches in a season, along with the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks.
The Jazz have made several adjustments this year that may well affect their sportsbook odds, and some that will not. They will be introducing new uniforms on August 16, which will have a new color scheme and logo. Of course, that should not affect their odds. But they have made some modifications to the roster furthermore to that. Kosta Koufos has been exchanged to the Minnesota Timberwolves. 2 days after they lost Carlos Boozer to the Chicago Bulls, Kyle Korver also signed an agreement with the Bulls. Wesley Matthews signed with the Portland Trail Blazers just a handful of days after that. The Jazz also acquired Gordon Hayward and Jeremy Evans during the NBA Draft this year.
